We set aside at
least 10% of our income to "give back" to many
worthwhile organizations that make it
their mission to care for others (people or animals)
who can not care for themselves, or in some other
way improve life on this planet.

Featured Site: Animals Asia
Foundation. You might be surprised to know
that an estimated 10,000 bears in China are kept in
a horizontal position, in cages that look rather
like coffins. They wear metal collars, are
immobilized by pressure bars, and have metal or rubber tubes
surgically placed in their body that drain bile from
their gall bladders. Unfortunately, the bears are
imprisoned in this manner as long as they
survive--up to 15-20 years.
Bear Bile is used to produce
efficacious medicines with a 3,000 year
history, but it is today totally replaceable
with herbs and synthetics. In the market today,
there is an oversupply of bear bile, so
the farmers are looking for new markets, placing it
in ridiculous things like shampoo. Animals Asia
workers recently saw a can of "Bear Bile Soda" !!!!
The Animals Asia "China
Bear Rescue Program"
is taking positive action to end "Bear
Farming" in China. Animals Asia has signed
an unprecedented
agreement with the Chinese
authorities to rescue 500 Moon Bears! A sanctuary has been
prepared for the bears, and we just hears from an Animals
Asia representative who let us know that the first 63 bears
have been moved to their new home, and have begun their recovery
to health.
You could order a dessert next time you go
out to eat, buy a bag of popcorn at the show,
order another drink at the club, get a bag of french
fries with your burger, or do one of the many
frivolous things we all do with our money... or you
could save that money just one time (or more if you
want to :-) and SEND A DONATION to help creatures in
the world that really need you.

The International Fund
for Animal Welfare (IFAW) is also working diligently to
rescue the Moon Bears in the "Bear Farms" of
Asia.

Let us not lose heart in doing good,
for in due time we will reap if we do not grow
weary.
