At school one morning a little boy was angered by a schoolmate who did him an injustice and didn't seem to even care. All day long the little boy was upset. By the end of the school day his hurt had turned to hate. On the way home from school that afternoon the little boy rode his bike over to his Grandfather's house. His Grandfather could see that that something was bothering his Grandson so he asked him about his day at school.
After hearing his Grandson's story, the Grandfather told his Grandson, "let me tell you a story now. I also at times have felt great anger because of those who have done me an injustice, and then have no sorrow for what they have done. But anger wears you down, and does not hurt your enemy. It's like taking poison and wishing your enemy would die. I have struggled with these feelings many times."
The Grandfather continued, "It is as if there are two wolves inside me; one is good and does no harm. He lives in harmony with all around him and does not take offense when no offense was intended. He will only fight when it is right to do so, and in the right way."

"But the other wolf, ah! He is full of anger. The littlest thing will set him into a fit of temper. He fights everyone, all the time, for no reason. He cannot think because his anger and hate are so great. But it is helpless anger, for his anger will change nothing. Sometimes it is hard to live with these two wolves inside me, for both of them try to dominate my spirit."
The little boy looked intently at his Grandfather and asked, "Which one wins Grandfather?"The Grandfather smiled and said, "The one I feed."
