Ten team members were standing in a line,
One disliked the President and then there were nine.
Nine ambitious members offered to work late,
One forgot her promise and then there were only eight.
Eight creative members had ideas good as Heaven,
But one lost his enthusiasm, and then there were seven.
Seven loyal members got into a fix,
They got into a quarrel and then there were six.
Six members remained, spirited and alive,
One moved away and then there were just five.
Five steadfast members wished there were more,
One became indifferent and then there were four.
Four chiseled members who never disagreed,
‘Til one complained of Mindy and then there were three.
Three eager members - What do they do?
One got discouraged and then there were only two.
Two lonely members (our rhyme is nearly done,)
One joined the bridge club and then there was one.

Now for the value of "one" member!

One faithful member was feeling rather blue,
But he remembered his neighbor, and that made two.
Two earnest members, each enrolled one more,
Doubling that number and then there were four.
Four determined members - They just couldn't wait
‘Til each enrolled another and then there were eight.
Eight excited members signed up sixteen more,
And in 6 more verses there'll be a thousand twenty-four!
