Positive changes that we make within ourselves can be very powerful forces.  Even in small doses, consistently applied overtime, they can produce very large changes all around us.

The following words were found written on the tomb of an Anglican Bishop in the crypts of Westminister Abby:

"When I was young and free, and my imagination had no limits, I dreamed of changing the world.  As I grew older and wiser, I discovered the world would not change, so I shortened my sights somewhat and decided to change only my country.  But it too seemed immovable.

As I grew into my twilight years, in one last desperate attempt, I settled for changing only family, those closest to me.  But, alas they would have none of it.

And now, as I lay on my deathbed, I suddenly realize: If I had only changed myself first, then by example I would have changed my family.

From their inspiration and encouragement, I would have then been able to better my country, and, who knows, I may have even changed the world.

Change needs to begin with ourselves.  Change needs to start on the inside and flow out.  You are not a tree.  If you don't like who you are or where you are, make a change.  If you don't like what's going on in your life, talk to the person in the mirror.

Sometimes the hardest thing about making a change is just getting started.

"I have often found some of the greatest motivation and inspiration in achieving a goal is found by simply getting started.  Once you take a step past fatigue, boredom, obstacles, mental blocks and procrastination you find renewed energy and vision."   Jim Rohn
