The following words were found written on the tomb of an
Anglican Bishop in the crypts of Westminister Abby:
"When I was young and free, and my imagination
had no limits, I dreamed of changing the world. As I grew older and
wiser, I discovered the world would not change, so I shortened
my sights somewhat and decided to change only my country. But it
too seemed immovable.
As I grew into my twilight years, in one last desperate attempt,
I settled for changing only family, those closest to me. But,
alas they would have none of it.
And now, as I lay on my deathbed, I suddenly realize: If I had
only changed myself first, then by example I would have changed
my family.
From their inspiration and encouragement, I would have then been
able to better my country, and, who knows, I may have even changed
the world.
Change needs to begin with ourselves. Change
needs to start on the inside and flow out. You are not a tree.
If you don't like who you are or where you are, make a change.
If you don't like what's going on in your life, talk to the
person in the mirror.
Sometimes the hardest thing about making a change is just
getting started.
"I have often found some of the greatest
motivation and inspiration in achieving a goal is found by
simply getting started. Once you take a step past fatigue,
boredom, obstacles, mental blocks and procrastination you find
renewed energy and vision." Jim Rohn
